Are you ready to take your pool to the next level? Imagine a pool that’s not just a relaxing oasis, but also an efficient and sustainable part of your home. With the right pool equipment, you can achieve just that! Better efficiency doesn’t just mean lower energy bills, but also a cleaner pool with less maintenance. Let’s dive into the world of the latest trends in pool equipment that can make your pool experience more efficient.
Embracing Efficiency: The Key to a Modern Pool
In today’s fast-paced world, efficiency is the name of the game. And your pool shouldn’t be left behind! By choosing the right pool equipment, you’re not just reducing your carbon footprint but also enjoying a hassle-free pool maintenance routine. So, what are some of the must-have pool equipment for maximizing efficiency?
1. Variable-Speed Pool Pumps
In all of Gurita Pools new inground pool projects, we always opt for the installation of variable speed pumps. It is more expensive then a "normal" single-speed pump, but the benefits greatly compensate the investment.
A single-speed pump is the traditional option in the old days. Once you turn it on, it will run at a one constant speed (usually 3250 rpms). These are the least expensive pool pumps to buy, but they can be inefficient and noisy.
Variable-speed pool pumps can be adjusted to different flows of water based on your pool’s needs, resulting in significant energy savings. These pumps can run at lower speeds for regular circulation and ramp up when needed for tasks like vacuuming or backwashing. With the ability to program different speeds, for specifics periods during the day using a variable speed pump will translate into up to 45% of energy savings.

2. UV sanitizers
A UV pool system uses a UV light bulb installed so the water goes through a contained space exposing the water to the UV rays. The water flows through a housing unit where a UV light destroys bacteria, algae, and other microorganisms by attacking them through their cell walls. It is a harmless and safe way to keep the balance of the water using less chemicals.
A UV sanitizer can also be installed on existing pool rooms.
3. Energy-Efficient Pool Heaters
The next pool equipment that can be hugely inefficient are pool heaters. Weather you will use a natural gas, propane or even pool heat pumps: making sure you have the right and more efficient unit can make a huge impact.
There is a big difference between gas heaters and heat pumps. In a simple way of explaining, pool heat pumps transfer and compress heat that already exists in the air into your pool water. A heat pump is able to save up to 80% in energy compared to a gas heater.
That’s your pool equipment working smarter, not harder. No pool with a clunky, outdated gas heater can call itself energy-efficient.
Also, if you will not use your pool for longer periods of time, it is smart to turn the heater off. It will cost you more to keep your pool heated during weeks of non-use, than to heat up your water when using the pool.
The Benefits of Upgrading Your Pool Equipment
Investing in efficient pool equipment goes beyond just cost savings. Here are some key benefits that upgrading your pool gear can bring to the table:
Sustainability : By reducing energy consumption and water waste, you’re contributing to a greener planet.
Convenience : Modern pool equipment automates tedious tasks, giving you more time to relax and enjoy your pool.
Water Quality : Advanced filtration systems and pumps mean cleaner water with fewer chemicals, creating a healthier swimming environment.
